Marker 31 is a rare Classic style marker from the early 1990s. The SHPO placed this marker on the sidewalk. A very odd placement for this one! Marker 31 and Marker 56 roughly share the same location. Notice Marker 56 on the right edge of the photo. Placing this commemorative plaque for the Old Spanish Trail seems very out of place in bustling downtown Mesquite.

Exact Description:
Stretching for 130 miles across Clark County, this historic horse trail became Nevada's first route of commerce in 1829 when trade was initiated between Santa Fe and Los Angeles. The trail was later used by the wagons of the "49ers" and Mormon pioneers. Concrete posts marking the trail were erected in 1965.
